Characteristics of air springs

(1) The elastic coefficient is variable. As the load increases, the elastic coefficient also expands. Because it has control characteristics, various characteristic curves can be formulated to achieve various functional requirements.​​

(2) The plastic body is relatively light, and the air quality index is not large. The net weight of the air spring mainly comes from the top cover and the lower cover. Unlike the steel torsion spring, the quality of the metal material is relatively heavy.​​

(3) The bearing capacity can be adjusted according to the pumping working pressure in the rubber airbag. For the same air spring, the size of the pumping pressure can be adjusted to meet the needs of different bearing capacities.

(4) Because the air spring uses gas as the elastic medium, the rolling friction force is small when shrinking, and the vibration damping characteristics are good. In addition, because gas and plastic are relatively poor in transmitting sound, the air spring has a very good sound-absorbing ability.​​

(5) Experiments show that the number of internal stress circulation systems that can be carried by general automobile leaf springs is 50-60 thousand times, and the frequency of internal stress circulation systems that can be generally carried is about 300 thousand times. The internal stress that air springs can carry with good performance The cycle frequency exceeds 500 thousand times. Therefore, air springs play a key role in resisting strain.

Do air springs ever need to be cleaned

Once per year, when performing a thorough inspection it is advised to clean the air spring with a soapy water or alcohol solution. This will help expose problems hidden from normal visual inspection. Soap bubbles may also help identify slow leaks that could be occurring,
indicating a failing air spring. Do not expose air springs to open flames, solvents or abrasives or else you may unintentionally damage the
air spring, particularly the rubber.
• APPROVED: soap and water, methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol and isopropyl alcohol
• NON-APPROVED: all organic solvents, open flames, abrasives and direct pressurized steam cleaning.
